Remember the happy times, raise a glass with cheer, come celebrate Stella in honor of her life. Help us ensure that Stella has a lasting impact by joining in our new adventure, Stella’s Paws – a nonprofit to help fund posters and fliers for missing pups.
On January 5th, 2018 Stella crossed the rainbow bridge in a house fire. Before we found her, thousands of people helped join the search. Friends, family, and strangers shared Facebook posts, Craigslist advertisements, and hundreds of posters and fliers. Perfect strangers drove around the neighborhood all night, while others braved below-zero temps, crawling under houses and through backyards. Now we want to give back to that same community of dog-lovers, by creating an organization to fund the creation and distribution of posters and fliers (one of the best ways to find lost dogs).
To know Stella was to love her. She was a rare gem, a rescue dog with lightning-fast recall. She never met a food she didn’t like and would jump through hoops – literally – to please her humans. She was fiercely protective of her “ugly bald puppies,” human siblings Thaddeus and Athena, and affectionate to every person she met. There will never be another dog like Stella, and we can’t think of a better way to honor her memory than helping others find their lost pets.
This will be an informal get-together, with an introduction to Stella’s Paws, the board members, and a timeline of future events. Join us for all or part, and bring your friends!
